But increasingly, scientists are also understanding the benefits of yoga to the mind – proving what traditional yoga practitioners have known for millennia.
And when body and mind are engaged, many yoga practitioners feel open to explore their own spirituality. That is why the ancient yogis practiced: to understand their place in the universe. And that is what the word “yoga” actually means: the union of mind, body and spirit.
